From the purposes fixed in its constitution the NOC has deduced a list of tasks the main points of which are outlined as follows:
- Cooperation with the IOC and realization of the tasks assigned by the IOC
- Promotion of the Olympic Movement
- Sending of teams to the Olympic Games
- Cooperation in order to work out eligibility rules for the Olympic Games
- Protection of the olympic symbols
- Care of the German participants in Olympic Games
- Cooperation with other NOCs
- Maintenance of general contacts.
